Baptisms
We joyfully welcome children and adults into the church family, typically on the second and fourth Sundays of each month. Whether you live in the parish or are a regular member of our congregation, we would love to walk with you through this special milestone.
Frequently asked questions
-
Baptism is offered to those living within our parish boundaries or those who are active members of our worshipping community. If you live outside the parish, we recommend contacting your local parish church.
-
Services are generally held at 12:00 noon on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. As we are a busy community, we recommend booking well in advance.
-
We invite families to a service the month prior (9:00 am or 10:30 am) to be formally welcomed. This is followed by a short rehearsal at the font. You will also be matched with a 'Baptism Visitor' from our congregation to answer any questions.
-
There is no charge for baptism, though donations to support the ongoing ministry and work of St Luke’s are always gratefully received.
-
In the normal course of events adult baptism is linked with the person's confirmation as a member of the Christian faith. For further details, please speak to a member of the clergy team.
