Welcome to St Luke’s, whoever you are
St Luke’s is a Church of England parish church sitting right at the heart of Battersea "Between the Commons", bringing together a wonderful mix of lives, from those who have called this parish home for decades, to the young families just starting out. Some of us have a fervent faith; others have more questions than answers. In a world that can often feel divided or polarised, we are incredibly proud of that diversity. We offer a wide variety of events, both liturgical and social.
We don't expect everyone to think the same or agree on everything. Instead, we are driven by the conviction that God loves every human being, and we simply invite you to walk, seek, and sit with us.
So, whatever may prompt you to seek God and walk in Christ’s footsteps, you are welcome here. Whether you’re looking for a quiet space to reflect or a vibrant community to belong to, there is a place for you.
We would love to meet you this Sunday—and we hope you’ll stay for coffee!
New to St. Luke’s?
Your questions, answered
-
Absolutely. St Luke's is a place for questions, not just answers. Whether you have fervent faith or are just curious, you are welcome here. We believe that belonging comes before believing.
-
Whatever you are comfortable in. You will see people in suits and ties, and you will see people in jeans and trainers.
-
If you usually take Communion in any Christian church, you are welcome to receive it here. If you would prefer a blessing, just bring your service booklet up with you. If you’d rather stay in your seat, that’s fine too!
-
We love them. St Luke’s is not a library; it’s a family home. We have a play area, and if they make noise during the service, please don't worry. We certainly don't.
-
Yes. We have level access at the Community Hall entrance on Ramsden Road and an accessible toilet. If you need any specific assistance, please just ask a sidesperson (the people handing out books) when you arrive.
-
Please pop us an email and one of our clergy team will be in touch.
-
No. There is no entry fee for faith. You are welcome at St Luke’s whether you can contribute financially or not.
We receive no central funding and rely entirely on the generosity of our community to keep the doors open and the choir singing. If you do choose to support us, we are very grateful. You can give via the collection plate, the contactless card reader, or—like most regular members—by setting up a monthly Standing Order.
Note: If you are a UK taxpayer, using Gift Aid adds an extra 25p to every £1 you give, at no cost to you.
