Youth Choir

Youth Choirs

There are two choirs, the Training Choir is for singers Year 2 to 5, and seeks to provide vocal training for younger singers, in a fun and challenging environment.  This choir is non-auditioned, and covers a range of repertoire from contemporary classical to folk song.  The Senior Choir is open for singers from academic Year 6.  This choir aims for the highest standard of choral singing and training.  Currently the choir is upper voices only, but we will accept singers of all voice types.  Our aim is to perform large-scale choral works alongside semi-staged theatrical productions.  The Senior Choir will offer opportunities  for solo singing, intonations tours and the opportunity to work and train with professional musicians.

The choirs are supported by the musical director, Jordan Theis.  He has been the Junior Choir Musical Director of St Luke's since 2016.  He is musical director of The Museum Singers, The Friends Musick and community choirs at St. Botolph-without-Aldgate.  He studied music at King's College London, where he recently completed a Masters in musicology.

Whilst the church building is closed, Jordan has been writing a song every week for young singers. He is making them available for free during the lockdown. To download these, visit https://stlukesyouthchoirs.com/sing-from-home/
