Sleep Out to Help Out

Friday 2 October in The Garth!

The Glass Door homeless charity that St Luke's supports each year through its winter night shelter is holding its annual fundraising ‘Sleep Out’ on Friday 2 October – with a difference.

Due to COVID-19 we're planning to have our own St Luke's Sleep Out! If you want to take part, raise vital funds and be part of a special night, there are 3 ways that you can get involved:

  1. Sleep out in the garth (for anyone aged 11+)
  2. Sleep out in your own garden (any age, but great for younger families – see page 3 below for more info!)
  3.  Be part of the support team at the church on the night

Throughout the evening, Glass Door’s special guests will be live streaming with Jim Carter (Downton Abbey’s Mr Carson) reading participants everywhere a bedtime story and Colin Firth also taking part.  In the early hours of the morning, yoga teacher and wellness coach Nadia Mishchanka will run a ‘Rise and Shine’ session to get us all moving again!

Take a look at to understand more about the vital work that they do - and it's needed more than ever this year.  Go to  to see why Jim Carter is giving his support.
